The 2026-27 NHL season is officially underway, and after a fun opening night on Tuesday, there’s a three-game slate on tap for Wednesday night. Pittsburgh responded by winning Games 4 and 5, but Philadelphia earned a 1-0 overtime shutout in Game 6 to advance to the second round. Unfortunately for the Flyers, they then ran into a dominant Carolina Hurricanes team that went on to win the Stanley Cup and swept Philadelphia in four games in the second round.
It’s a new season with some new faces on each side, but the core of both teams remains intact.
