The pigs are back for spooky season!
Light & Wonder’s Huff N’ Puff Haunted Mansion just launched at Hard Rock Bet Online Casino in New Jersey and Michigan just in time for Halloween. Here’s what you’ll find once you step inside.
About the Huff N’ Puff Series
Most of us know The Three Little Pigs by heart, and Huff N’ Puff has turned that nostalgia into one of the biggest slot franchises in the U.S. The classic games revolve around building houses and waiting for the Big Bad Wolf to blow them down for prizes. Later entries like Huff N’ Puff High Rise and Money Mansion branch out with new, unique layouts. Our ranking of the best Huff N’ Puff slots at Hard Rock Bet breaks down how each game plays.
Haunted Mansion follows a similar structure to Money Mansion, with three Bonus symbols unlocking a mansion stocked with prize meters, jackpots and free spins features. The twist is in the path to get there. Pumpkins, bone frames and coffins bring the whole game together.
Visuals: Trick or Treat
At the top of the screen, a creaky old mansion glows from its windows, and the front of the house is lined with multiplier meters. A misty blue graveyard fills in the rest of the background with bare trees and crooked tombstones. Jack-o’-lanterns line up on top of the reels.
Then there are the pigs. Each one shows up in costume: a Frankenstein-style monster, a masked pig carrying an axe, and a skeleton sitting on a grave marked “pig.” Black cats, candles and card values round out the main symbols.
The Big Bad Wolf hangs around as the WILD, and a Ghost Pig wearing a pumpkin on its head drifts in during the base game. It’s like a Halloween party.
Game Features
One symbol you should definitely watch is the Pumpkin, which triggers free spins, builds frames during each feature and sets up the coffins that pay out when a feature ends.
Reel Ways
You’ll play on a 5×3 grid with 243 ways to win, with combinations paying across adjacent reels from the left. The Wolf WILD only lands on reels 2 through 4. Before each base game spin, Mystery Stacked Reels can also swap positions for the three pig symbols.
Free Spins Feature
Six or more scattered Pumpkins in the base game award six free spins. Ghost Pigs can help you get there, floating over the reels and dropping in extra Pumpkins to complete the trigger.
Bone Frames and Coffins
Every Pumpkin that lands during a feature adds a frame to its spot or upgrades the one already there. Frames move from White to Red to Gold. Once the feature wraps, each frame breaks open as a coffin with a prize inside.
White coffins pay small multipliers. Red coffins can hold the Minor or Mini jackpot. Gold coffins pay up to 75x your total bet, and one of them can reveal a Bonus symbol that leads straight into the Haunted Mansion Feature.
Haunted Mansion Feature
Everything builds toward this feature. Land three or more scattered Bonus symbols in the base game, or uncover one in a Gold coffin, to step inside the mansion. The prize could be a jackpot, a multiplier worth up to 4,000x your total bet or one of three free spins features:
- Torch-Up Feature: Two to five reels get torched, starting each with White Bone Frames.
- Halloween Feature: The grid grows to four rows and 1,024 ways, with five to 10 White Bone Frames placed before the first spin.
- Graveyard Feature: Frames skip straight to Gold, the highest-paying coffin tier.
Jackpots
The Grand, Major, Minor and Mini jackpots line the left side of the screen. You can only win the Grand and Major inside the Haunted Mansion Feature. Each value scales with your bet. At $2 a spin, for example, the Grand is worth $10,000.
